Minimum Requirements for Competing in Events - Read in Conjunction with the Motorsport NZ Manual. Competing In Motorkhanas You will need a car upto WOF standards, be over 12 years of age, after competing in two motorkhanas and/or autocross events, you will be required to become a member of NCC or other car club affliated with Motorsport NZ. Competing In Autocross You will need a car upto WOF standards (this will be scrutineered at the event), be over 12 years of age, have an approved helmet, single layer cotton overalls (with cuffs), covered in leather foot wear, cotton or wool socks. Competing in Hillclimbs, Street Sprint, Bentsprints Need to be a member of NCC or a car club that is affliated with Motorsport NZ (prior to the event), have an upto date competition licence, standard road licence if touring back on open roads, fire extinguisher fixed in approved position, approved helmet, single layer approved overalls with cotton or wool under garments or multi- layered approved overalls, covered in leather foot wear with cotton or wool socks as per Appendix Two Schedule A. Getting Started

Motorsport is an exciting sport and anyone can participate!

If you want to be more involved than just spectating, you are welcome to come along and get more involved, we

always welcome new members. Being part of a club is a great way to meet more people within your own

community.

There are many different ways of getting involved within the car club: being part of each or any event: MOTORKHANAS, AUTOCROSSES, HILLCLIMBS, SPRINTS You can start out at helping at any club event, this can include setting up at the beginning of the day, taking entries for the day, timing at start and finish lines, marshalling or radio points along the road - which means you get to see the action as well as helping. Slowly upskill youself with on the job coaching and you could become an organiser. Volunteer organisers are essential to any event, and/or club and there can be just as much sense of achievement at being part of a successful event organisation team as there can be from being in the actual winner’s team. being part of the committee: PRESIDENT, VICE PRESIDENT, CLUB CAPTAIN, SECRETARY, TREASURER, SPEED EVENTS, MOTORKHANAS, AUTOCROSSES, SCRUTINEER, CLUB MAG, POINTS, CLUB EQUIPEMENT, PUBLICITY, WEB SITE....there are many different jobs that you can be involved in to help make the club run a lot smoother.

MOTORKHANAS A MOTORKHANA is a cheap and enjoyable form of motorsport and at the same time is one of the most competitive. It is an event in which you can use almost any vehicle (standard road cars can be very competitive) and is primarily a test of driver skills. GRASS • gravel • Tarseal
Autocrosses
An AUTOCROSS is the ideal environment in which to learn or improve car control skills while at the same time having a lot of fun. It is an event that favours driver skill over outright horsepower, but at speeds higher than those experienced in motorkhanas.

HILFORD ROAD Hillclimbs HILLCLIMBS are generally the highest form of motorsport that can be competed in using a normal road car. They are so named because the finish line must be at a higher altitude than the start line and the course must be mostly uphill.
SPRINTS ¼ Mile - Street - Bent - Rally
SPRINTS are a relatively inexpensive form of motorsport and yet very competitive. All sprints are primarily a test of the vehicle's performance and the drivers ability to control the vehicle. Sprints can range from - 1/4 Mile Sprint, Bent Sprint, Rally Sprint, Street Sprint
